After working 18 years in the disability and mental health sectors and my own mental health being effected change was needed.
After testing the waters by spending time at some distilleries and researching possibilities, I decided to apply for a distilling licence. This was approved quickly and FNQ spirits was born. Building the distillery has been a process, starting with a bare shed and working from a blank canvas. The idea developed to create something truly Far North Queensland: the brand, the drinks, local products and an FNQ flare were the driving force.
Thanks to a great family, some good friends and many hours researching and refining ideas, the distillation stage started for the first product- Croc Piss, a signature spirit designed to bottle the heart and soul of Far North Queensland.
Thanks for sharing this journey with me so far, the light at the end of the tunnel is looking closer and I am looking forward to having spirits bottled, sold and being enjoyed by Far North Queenslanders and everyone else that feels connected to this beautiful region.
Cheers to all.
